EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

If I Ruled the World

If I ruled the world everyone would have to sing
first thing in the morning
Just in case they didn’t pray and lost the emotion for their day
First they’d sing to self and then they’d sing to someone else
To set the tone of their course, of course

If I ruled the world people would bottle
their joys and pains like salt and pepper and not overeat
because mealtime would be complete
for they could taste their day
and be entertained by the colors projected someone else’s way

They would see and say:

Did I apologize my way through the day to keep a friend
And not defend the opportunity for discipline
Oh how my colors did blend

What I really wanted was to be encouragingly orange or a shade thereof
Instead I was a sickening brown, you know the color or mud

Then they’d sing to the ruler of the world

Joy and pain enhance reality
Because balance is not within
And a companion is a vehicle
but discipline is the friend

Yes, I’m the ruler of the world, so I already know
What it takes to wake and participate throughout a day
To be conscience of others and consistently show
That putting up with one another can be a gift… if…
We set the tone of our course, or course.
